THE RACE IS NOT FOR THE SWIFT

Image
I returned and saw under the sun that — The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9:11) IT WOULD BE AN INTERESTING EXERCISE TO TRY TO PREDICT WHO WILL AND WHO WILL NOT MAKE IT TO HEAVEN. Of the people you know, for example, who are the ones who will see God’s face in His eternal kingdom? Whatever criteria you used to make such a forecast, there’s  a good chance that many of your predictions wouldn’t come true. It’s an obvious fact in this world: we are often surprised at how people’s spiritual lives turn out. Some whom we think are bound to remain faithful to the Lord turn out to be little more than disappointments, while others we had little hope for end up being the most faithful. The race is not to the swift! The reason predictions of any kind are hard is that life is full ...

BIBLICAL PARENTING(USING WOMEN PERSPECTIVE)

Image
DEFINITION OF TERMS a.        Biblical- something that relates to or contained in the bible. In other words, it means something that is done or kept with the nature of the bible or bei ng in accord with the bible. b.       Parenting: Another word for parenting is child rearing which is the process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood. However, biblical parenting is training, teaching, nurturing and bringing up of a child in the way of God according to the word of the Lord Jesus Christ. Without a Godly home, there would not be a Godly parent hence the need for Godly home consisting of a Christian home where parent are bound together in love with God fearing children. “for I know him that  he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord ...

A THOUGHTFUL ARTICLE

Oh no! I can't believe I've been used again! I can't believe he lied that I was special and I believed him and released this heart I've tried so hard to keep from pain. I could recognize others the moment they came and shunned them off immediately, but with him it was different. ....he seemed so true,so different. I toss and I turn I cry and inside i burn I bear a pain a dare not tell It hurts so bad but i cannot yell. No i can't yell for fear of criticism. .yes I'm heart attacked but i dare not call 911 because I aided and abated this crime. I should have listened when Abba said "stay away", i should have guarded my heart more diligently. I was careless. I trusted myself too much. Now here I am wallowing in pain, swimming in the pool of tears i dug. I beg sleep to come, but all that keeps knocking is this migraine. ...this head keeps aching at the thought that I've been fooled again. I was just another girl to him and when he said ...

PEACE IN THE MIDST OF STORMS

Image
Will your anchor hold in the storms of life, when the clouds unfold their wings of strife? When the strong tides lift and the cables strain, will your anchor drift, or firm remain?( RH 322) Life is likened to a ship on the sea and the storm is blowing it up and down. Day by day, terrible things happen that make like seems unbearable and unsafe for human beings. But thanks be to God for we have a captain over the ship of our lives who can be called for help in the midst of storms. In Matt 8:25, Christ’s Disciples came to Him saying, Lord, save us: we perish. Like Christ’s disciples we have a saving hand when clouds unfold their wings of strife this year and throughout our lives. You shall call His name “ JESUS ” for He shall “ SAVE ” His peopl e. Matt 1:21. Therefore fear thou not, my servant Jacob, Saith the Lord; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for lo, I will “ SAVE ” thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return; and shall be in re...

HALTING YOUR WORRIES

Image
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me: for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls”…Matthew 11:29. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:33 that the answers to worry is to “seek first His kingdom and his righteousness. This entails getting our ambitions and priorities right. Some of these are modest; such as foods, drinks and clothing. Others can be grandiose; a bigger house, a new car, a better salary, power, reputation or fame. But all these are self-centered and ultimately meaningless. Our priorities and ambitions need to be changed, not that we are to opt out but quite the reverse. We are to take on a different set of responsibilities which are far more exciting and challenging. Jesus calls us to a nobler ambition-to seek His kingdom; to seek His rule and His reign in our lives, our marriages, our home, family and lifestyle.  We are to seek His kingdom (His reign) in the lives of others-our friends, relations, neighbors, colleagues and in the commun...

MOTIVATIONAL WORDS

Image
*Life is meant to be lived*   Life is to be lived.  No excuses!  No reservations! No holding back! An enchanting story about Violinist *Fritz Kreisler* tells how he once came across a beautiful instrument he wanted to acquire.  When he finally raised the money for the violin, he returned to buy it and learned that it had already been sold to a collector. He went to the new owner's home in order to try to persuade him to sell the violin. But the collector said it was one of his prized possessions and he could not let it go.  The disappointed Kreisler turned to leave, but then asked a favour. ''May I play the instrument once more before it is consigned to silence?'' Permission was granted and the great musician began to play.  The violin sang out a quality of music so beautiful that the collector himself could only listen in wonderment.  ''I have no right to keep that to myself,'' he said after the musician finish...
