TRUSTING GOD FOR HIS WORDS

"No one will be able to defeat you all your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forget you.” (Joshua 1:5)

You need to learn to lean on the Lord. It doesn’t mean just believe in him — it means depend totally, completely, and exclusively on God. When you lean on something, you expect it to hold you up. You can lean on the Lord.

"No one will be able to defeat you all your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forget you” (Joshua 1:5).If you study Joshua's life, you’ll find that, as long as he leaned on the Lord, he was undefeatable.

When you think you can’t do something on your own power, that’s OK. Lean on God, and he will give you his power to do what he’s called you to do. You lose your fear when God is near, and he’s promised to always be with you.

Some of you are leaning on other people. They may be Christians, they may be godly people, but they will let you down because they’re human, because nobody's perfect. There is no guarantee that the person you lean on the most — husband, wife, parent — will even be around for any length of time. You need someone who cannot be taken away from you. You need to learn to lean on the Lord.

Proverbs 3:5-7 says, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” (NIV). You can trust God with your future. Learn to lean on him.
