HONOUR YOUR PARENTS{YOUTH CORNER}

Image
Being a Christian in a non-Christian household can be difficult but also can be beneficial for your personal walk with Jesus. How does one live with non-Christian parents? Firstly, obey them. Paul writes in Ephesians 6:1-3 that believing children should obey their parents, quoting the fifth commandment. Paul’s words can also be applied when your parents aren’t Christian. Obey them because God tells you it is the right thing to do (verse 1) and it brings blessing from God (verse 2-3). Obedience to God always brings him glory. However, this doesn’t necessarily apply if your parents are trying to stop you following Jesus. Jesus comes first, but there are still ways to obey your parents, and show them that you love them: Try and be the best child you can be for the Lord and for your parents. If you have chores to do at home, do them without complaining. Obey your parent’s curfews and tidy up your room. Wash up, even if you haven't been asked. Don’t speak back ru...

THOUGHTS TO PONDER ON

Image
PARENTING WITH MOURNING: The world of parenthood is difficult territory, and maps can't show you everything. Sometimes this is because of their wandering and opposition, asking questions for themselves, learning things the hard way. MODESTY IN THE FORE FRONT: "Modesty" in our time seems to be a forgotten obligation for men and women! We need often to remember and emphasize what Paul by inspiration writes to the beloved: "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works" (I Tim. 2:9-10). It is true that "a worthy woman" is a blessing and help to the world! She is one who not only professes godliness but who also proves it by her dress and demeanor. But a worldly man or woman is a curse to many! ! (Tit. 2:3-5). GOD USES THE BUSY HANDS :   “Moses was busy with his flock...

AM I GOING TO HEAVEN?

Image
How you can be sure of the answer to the biggest question. God has promised me, through his Word that the death of Jesus has paid for my sin and that if I believe in Jesus, I'm going to heaven. But how can I be sure? How do I know that Jesus really has deal with my sin? How can I know that God actually will follow through on his promise and let me into heaven? God can be trusted When Jesus was on earth, he knew he had a mission and he knew what it would take to complete it. In Mark 10:33-34, Jesus said: The Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priest and teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, who will mock him and spit on him, flog him and kill him. Three days later he will rise. If Jesus had died on the cross and stayed dead, then we would have no assurance what so ever that we would be saved. Instead, Jesus conquered death. He went to the grave and then told death who was boss. One of the reasons Jesus c...

#ajournalOFaJESUSgirl #_theCRUSHING_crush. Please before you crucify me or give answer to this dilemma, kindly read the post to the end. But what is a girl to do? The first problem of society is that we deny that some things are going on... That heavily built guy on my street with muscles that make you want a hug that music leader in church, whenever he sings, all you hear in your head is him.. You cant see God. That classmate, coursemate, cute, calm and so masculine it makes you blush from your stomach lining to your cheeks..each time he smiles at you.. That crush that wön't just leave your head. Yes i'm single right now, but I've been married before. I know most of you will be shocked to hear this. The marriage didn't last long before my husband died... But during that short period of marriage, I had a crush on another man. He was ruddy, cute and so powerful! But what I loved most about him was his voice.. Each time he sang the songs he wr...

THOUGHTS TO PONDER ON(EXAMINE YOURSELF)

Image
Have a strong knowledge of scripture is very important for us as christians. Below are questions and statements seeking for our opinions as we grow in the cadre of faith: Confrontations in Witnessing:  Jesus said we should expect persecution, but that doesn't always mean beatings and prison. How should we react when persecution is just confrontations when we're witnessing? Evangelism is a Joint Effort : Evangelism isn't solitary work. It requires many believers, obeying God as He leads them in seemingly small and insignificant tasks. "Whatever is true...":   It is good to expose false-teaching. But there are better ways to spend our time than condemning every specific error like some theological whack-a-mole. Focus on what is true. Sermonizing:   The early church established sermons as a major way for more educated believers to teach younger Christ-followers. Sermonizing well takes hard work and help from the Holy Spirit. Discipleship Looks Different...

EXPERIENCING SPIRITUAL GROWTH AS A COUPLE (A LESSON FOR HUSBAND AND WIFE)

Image
Growth is a progressive increase in size of an organism. Growth is defined as a gradual development in maturity, age, size, weight or height. An example of growth is a wild teenaged girl becoming much calmer in her late twenties.            Spiritual growth is the process of becoming more and more like Jesus Christ. When we place our faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit begins the process of making us more like Him, conforming us to His image. Spiritual growth is perhaps best described in 2 Peter 1:3-8, which tells us that by God's power we have “everything we need” to live lives of godliness, which is the goal of spiritual growth. Notice that what we need comes “through our knowledge of Him,” which is the key to obtaining everything we need. Our knowledge of Him comes from the Word, given to us for our edification and growth.         ...

YE ARE ILLUMINATIONS TO THE WORLD

Image
“You are the light of the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.  No one lights a lamp (candle) and then puts it under a basket.  Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house, in the same way let your good deeds (light) shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly father.  (Mathew 5: 14-16). F rom the inception, Light was designed to make positive impact in life. It is designed as value carrier. This was established in the creation story as recorded in Genesis chapter 1 verses 1-3. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light .” (KJV) The entrance of light brings in shout of jubilation, solution, joy and good life. This explained the situation when you were...

OVERFLOWING BLESSINGS (EPHESIANS 3:20, PSALM 23:5)

Image
God as a self-sufficient one is able to grant to His children more than what is requested from him. “God gives than our request”.  God is described as one who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think. As OMNISCIENT (ALL KNOWING) GOD, He did not only know your heart but also what you are thinking and even what you did not think or imagine. Our heart as human is too narrow to comprehend the whole wisdom and knowledge of God i.e. you cannot know all what God is able to do in your life because He is unlimited by space and power. God blessings to His people are overflowing ones. We only ask for what we want from God in prayers, but God will give what we need, because our wants may sometimes not be our needs, but He alone knows our needs. BIBLICAL INSTANCES OF THE EXCEEDING WORKS OF GOD Jacob (Israel)Gen 45:28 : Jacob as an old man, was in sorrow for many days because of the sudden death of his beloved ...

HALLELUYAH, CHRIST HAS RISEN!!!

Image
The resurrection story appears in more than five locations in the Bible. In several episodes in the Four Gospels Jesus foretells His death and ressurection which he state in the plan of God the father. Christians view the ressurection of Jesus as part of the plan of salvation and redemption by atonement for man's sin. Some religious bodies do not accept this view on death and resurrection , but this beliefs of christians are based on  proofs. A mohamedian once said to prove the superiority of his religious to that of christianity, "We have the tomb of our prophet, you have only an empty tomb". Christians said, "Yes we thank God for the empty tomb, the church of Jesus Christ is founded on that truth. Many clever theories have been suggested to prove that Jesus did not rise from the dead. Satan tries to cause unbelief on this subject too. But there is abundant proof of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Proofs Of Christ Resurrection. (A) The change in the actio...

BIBLICAL PARENTING(PT 2)

Image
HOW TO TRAIN YOUR CHILDREN BIBLICALLY:         Being a good parent is all about raising children who will follow your example in obeying and worshiping the Lord. Bellow are the ways to your biblically;         Ability to love, bond and to show love: Parent (especially mother) can express their love to their children behaviorally and verbally which is the first quality of a good parent. It could b expressed by telling the child that you love him/her thus instilling trust, self-esteem and compassion in that child- “That they may teach the young women to be sober; to love their husbands, to love their children- Titus 2:4 (KJV)” Provision: Parent are to provide for their children needs, that is food, clothing and also a means to choose their own life vocational under God “But if any provide not for his own and specially for those of his own house, he hath d...

MARRIAGE AS A LIFELONG COMMITMENT... and God’s Rules On One Man One Wife

Image
According to Oxford English Dictionary, Marriage is the legal relationship between a husband and wife. Lifelong means: lasting or existing all through your life. Commitment: An act of committing to something or somebody. Therefore marriage is a relationship one is committed to throughout ones entire life. Ones you are in, God forbids reverse. According to the words of God Gen. 2:24, ‘Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall become one flesh.’ Because of the words ‘’cleave and they shall become one flesh.’’  The chemists say, they are not mixtures but now a compound, therefore they are inseparable except death do them part. Because the two persons involved are inseparable each of them must do everything possible not to pull him/herself out of the marriage. And because no one must pull him/herself out, each must do everything possible to enjoy it ( marriage ). The book of proverbs 5:18 says: ‘’Let thy fountain be b...

THE RACE IS NOT FOR THE SWIFT

Image
I returned and saw under the sun that — The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9:11) IT WOULD BE AN INTERESTING EXERCISE TO TRY TO PREDICT WHO WILL AND WHO WILL NOT MAKE IT TO HEAVEN. Of the people you know, for example, who are the ones who will see God’s face in His eternal kingdom? Whatever criteria you used to make such a forecast, there’s  a good chance that many of your predictions wouldn’t come true. It’s an obvious fact in this world: we are often surprised at how people’s spiritual lives turn out. Some whom we think are bound to remain faithful to the Lord turn out to be little more than disappointments, while others we had little hope for end up being the most faithful. The race is not to the swift! The reason predictions of any kind are hard is that life is full ...

BIBLICAL PARENTING(USING WOMEN PERSPECTIVE)

Image
DEFINITION OF TERMS a.        Biblical- something that relates to or contained in the bible. In other words, it means something that is done or kept with the nature of the bible or bei ng in accord with the bible. b.       Parenting: Another word for parenting is child rearing which is the process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood. However, biblical parenting is training, teaching, nurturing and bringing up of a child in the way of God according to the word of the Lord Jesus Christ. Without a Godly home, there would not be a Godly parent hence the need for Godly home consisting of a Christian home where parent are bound together in love with God fearing children. “for I know him that  he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord ...
